91³ÉÈ˶¶Òô¶ÌÊÓÆµprofessors publish article in "Journal of Paleontology"

Dr. Lloyd Glawe, retired professor from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, 91³ÉÈ˶¶Òô¶ÌÊÓÆµBiology Instructor Dennis Bell, 91³ÉÈ˶¶Òô¶ÌÊÓÆµAssistant Professor of Physics Dr. John Anderson, and Dr. David T. Dockery III of the Mississippi Office of Geology published an article in the September issue of the "Journal of Paleontology."

The article, entitled "Larval to Adult Growth Stages and Paleoenvironment of Odontogryphaea thirsae (Gabb, 1861): A Late Paleocene Oyster from the Northern Gulf Coastal Plain, U.S.A." describes the growth stages and environmental preferences of an ancient oyster species that thrived in the shallow waters of the Northern Gulf Coast 57 million years ago.

Field expenses, publication costs and support were provided by a local geologist, the 91³ÉÈ˶¶Òô¶ÌÊÓÆµMuseum of Natural History, the 91³ÉÈ˶¶Òô¶ÌÊÓÆµCollege of Arts and Sciences, the 91³ÉÈ˶¶Òô¶ÌÊÓÆµDepartment of Atmospheric Sciences, Earth Sciences, and Physics, and the 91³ÉÈ˶¶Òô¶ÌÊÓÆµDepartment of Biology.
