91³ÉÈ˶¶Òô¶ÌÊÓÆµStudents Participate in MSO Chorus Concert
The newly formed Monroe Symphony Orchestra Chorus will present a concert on Monday, November 7. The musical event begins at 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church on Loop Road in Monroe. The chorus is conducted by the 91³ÉÈ˶¶Òô¶ÌÊÓÆµDirector of Choral Activities Dr. Deborah Chandler. This debut performance is entitled "A Song of Thanksgiving."
The MSO Chorus is made up of about 65 singers from the Monroe/West Monroe community including ULM, Bastrop and Ruston.
This program will include music by Brahms and Beethoven. It will also feature accompaniments by pipe organ and a brass quintet. Audience members will hear several arrangements of familiar Thanksgiving tunes, and the concert will conclude with "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."
91³ÉÈ˶¶Òô¶ÌÊÓÆµstudents with I.D. will be admitted free of charge. Admission is $5 for 91³ÉÈ˶¶Òô¶ÌÊÓÆµfaculty, staff and the general public. Tickets are available at the Visual and Performing Arts office in Biedenharn Hall, Room 105, or tickets may be purchased at the door.
